Human Resources Manager

This position will be responsible for managing the Human Resources functions of the Cooperative, including:  

Employee Development

Safety

Benefits Administration

Compensation

Staffing

Labor & Employee Relations 

Affirmative Action Plans

Successful candidates must have excellent organizational and communication skills, a Bachelor's Degree in Human Resources or related field and a minimum of five years experience in HR Management or Administration.  Professional Certification and prior experience with a unionized workforce preferred.  Reasonable accomodations may be made to enable individuals with disabilities to perform the essential functions.

Education:  Bachelor's degree in Human Resources or related field is strongly preferred.  A PHR certification is desirable.

Experience:  Minimum of five (5) years of experience with Human Resources Management/Administration, preferably in a union environment.

Job Knowledge:  Must have a good working knowledge of Human Resources principles and practices.

Abilities & Skills:  Should have the ability to plan, organize, direct and control the functions of the Human Resources area.  Must be self-motivated, able to establish professional personal relationships with a high degree of confidentiality and business ethics.  Should have the skills to communicate the information accumulated both verbally and in written reports to groups with diverse knowledge, ranging from members to the Board of Trustees.  Must have conceptual skill to apply computer capabilities to Human Resources.  Must have the ability to communicate and cooperate with regulatory agencies, government officials and consultants, as required.

Working Conditions:  Usual office conditions.  The noise level is moderate.  Occasional overtime will be required.  Some travel required in performance of work responsibilities.
