Kathy Long

Kathy is best known for her business "Crowning Moments Prom and Bridal in Muskogee".  For 25 years people have trusted her event planning and full service weddings.  With an A+ Better Business Bureau rating, that speaks volumes for her integrity and "on time, every time" demeanor.  Kathy is a "take charge" kind of person that gets it right the first time, with a winning attitude and a smile on her face.

As a wife for 47 years to Phillip, and a mother to a daughter who is an RN and a son who is retired military and a police officer - mix in five grandchildren, you might say Kathy is a full blown Grandma.  Kathy knows the heartache of her son's deployments to Afghanistan and other deployments around the globe.  Kathy knows what it is like when packing a box to send to someone overseas, wishing the electric wasn't so high so she could put more in it.

Kathy has been a part of the electric co-op for over 40 years and with her deep community connections, she feels like this is an opportunity to serve.  It might just be a first for a woman to run for the board of trustees.  Trustees have typically been appointed in the past, but Kathy believes in elections.  She also believes in breaking down barriers and has served as President of various clubs and was voted "Business Woman of the Year" by America's Business Women's Association.

Kathy is a cancer survivor.  She will tell you that a positive attitude and a family that supports and prays for you, will see you through.  Kathy is a fighter and her doctors claim her as their miracle.  If you want to touch a miracle - shake Kathy's hand.  Kathy knows the power of community and family, hard work and giving.  As a female, wife, mother, grandmother, she brings a different approach to the decision table.  Kathy's organizational skills have served her well.

Kathy's first job was writing tickets at the Okmulgee Stock Yard where she got to know a lot of the farm and ranch people in the area.  She went on to sell real estate in the Muskogee area for many years and became a Broker.

Kathy's diverse background and experience demonstrates consistent commitment to serving.

Kathy and Phillip have 10 acres southeast of Muskogee, they call "I Do Acres".  They have a Chapel on the property as well as a reception hall for small weddings.

Kathy's commitment to serving and willingness to devote the time and energy will serve the member owners well.
