Mike Vernnon

Mike Vernnon, born in Oklahoma 1971, lives in Muskogee with his wife Erin.  They have one son and one granddaughter, Violet May.  Mike believes it is important to serve his community and has shown this commitment by serving in various ways.

Mike served with the Oklahoma Army National Guard as a Chief Warrant Officer Three with over 23 years of service.  Deploying to Iraq and Afghanistan, he lead soldiers from Muskogee, Checotah, Eufaula, Okmulgee and Okemah.  When he retired he was looking for a new way to serve his community; he found that opportunity with the East Central Electric Board.  Since joining the Board of Directors, he has voted 'yes' to bring Internet Fiber To The Home and Solar Power to members.

Mike has taken all certification courses to become fully qualified to represent the members of East Central Electric.

Mike has led Safety and Environmental programs at Georgia Pacific, Dal-Tile and currently works as a Safety Director at Grand River Dam Authority (GRDA).

  • Current Trustee District 4 East Central Electric Cooperative
  • Detachment Commander 120th Engineers; Eufaula, Ok
  • Platoon Leader A CO 120th Engineers; Okemah, Ok
  • Certified Credentialed Director through NRECA
  • Unwavering commitment to this great country

I look forward to the continuation of my service as your Director in District 4.  My current role with the GRDA makes me even more uniquely qualified to serve you in District 4.  I understand the importance and support all 5 energy segments.  I understand how they impact Oklahoma and specifically Muskogee.  I work every day at the GRDA supporting the Solar Power, Wind Power, Hydro Power, Gas Fired Power and Coal Fired Power electric utilities.
