Operation Round Up®: Small Change that Changes Lives
Oklahoma co-op helps to improve the quality of life for its community.
Designed to provide financial assistance to worthwhile activities in cooperative service areas, Operation Round Up® gathers voluntary contributions from co-op members by rounding up their monthly electric bill to the next highest dollar. The fund may be used for local projects such as fire fighting equipment for volunteer fire departments, youth programs, and food and shelter for the needy.
Operation Round Up is just what its name implies. Each month, East Central Electric Cooperative in Okmulgee, Oklahoma, which serves over 25,000 member-owners “rounds-up” the electric bills of participating members. For example, a bill of $36.27 is rounded up to $37, with 73 cents going to the Operation Round Up fund.
