Safety Coordinator

East Central Oklahoma Electric Cooperative (ECOEC) is currently recruiting for a Safety Coordinator to join our organization. The successful candidate will coordinate the cooperatives safety program in a manner that will ensure that ECOEC and its employees are in compliance with all safety rules in accordance with OSHA, EPA, State, National Electrical Safety Codes, OAEC Safety Manual and others which may regulate the operations of the Cooperative. In addition the Safety Coordinator will also ensure compliance with Workers’ Compensation laws and reporting to maintain the highest possible degree of safety.



A high school diploma is required. Post-secondary study in related safety field is preferred. 



Three (3) years progressively responsible related experience is preferred.



An advanced knowledge of OSHA Rules and Regulations is highly preferred. A working knowledge of RUS Construction Specifications and National Electrical Safety Code is preferred.



Must be dependable and self-starting.  Must have good written and oral communication skills and be able to communicate with all levels of the organization. Must be able to become a certified instructor in First Aid, CPR, and AED. Must have and maintain a valid Oklahoma Driver’s License.



Usual office and field conditions.  Considerable outside work is required.  Travel is required.  Exposed to varied adverse weather conditions, such as dust, rain, extreme heat, extreme cold, ice, snow, humidity, etc.  Works long hours in emergency situations. The noise level in the work environment is moderate to loud.
