Sales and Marketing Coordinator

POSITION FUNCTION

Promotes subsidiary product lines and secures orders from existing and prospective customers through a relationship-based sales approach.  Achieves maximum sales growth and profitability by effectively marketing and selling products and tracking results.  Responsible for meeting marketing and sales goals to both commercial and residential customers.

Responsible To:  Director of Broadband Operations

RESPONSIBILITIES AND AUTHORITIES

• Establishes, develops and maintains business relationships with current customers and prospective customers in the assigned territory to generate new business.

• Makes telephone calls, in-person visits and presentations to existing and prospective customers.  Attending community clubs, events, and door-to-door sales is expected.

• Researches sources for developing prospective customers and for information to determine their potential.

• Develops clear and effective written proposals/quotations for current and prospective customers.

• Resolves customer complaints by investigating problems; developing solutions; preparing reports; making recommendations to management in a timely manner.

• Coordinates sales effort with customer service, marketing, management, accounting, construction, engineering, and technical service groups.

• Analyzes the territory and market potential and determines the value of existing and prospective customer’s value to the organization.

• Identifies advantages and compares organization’s products/services.

• Plans and organizes personal time to promote efficient and effective sales strategies.

• Supplies management with oral and written reports on customer needs, problems, interests, competitive activities, and potential for new products and services.

• Keeps management informed by submitting activity and results reports, such as daily call reports, weekly work plans, and monthly and annual sales activity.

• Keeps abreast of product applications, technical services, market conditions, competitive activities, advertising and promotional trends.

• Maintains professional and technical knowledge by attending educational workshops; reviewing professional publications; establishing personal networks; participating in professional societies.  Overnight stays will be required.

• Is responsible for accomplishing customer sales and service functions as needed or assigned.

• Plan, implement, and review promotional campaigns to build brand awareness.

• Create, update and optimize all electronic and print marketing collateral.

• Ability to produce copywriting, creative and graphic design material.

• Develop and execute an integrated online strategy utilizing web and social media channels.

• Assist sales efforts by providing event planning, presentations, and public relations support.

• Work extensively with sales team to understand the sales process and customer needs.  Make customer sales calls as required.

• Monitor, review, and report on marketing activities.

• Coordinate activities and communicate with sales, management, accounting, construction, engineering, and technical service groups.

• Analyze ongoing market conditions, competitor activities, and industry best practices.

• Identify and promote the advantages of fiber products and services.

• Plans and organizes personal time to promote efficient and effective marketing strategies.

• Supplies management with oral and written reports on customer needs, problems, interests, competitive activities, and potential for new products and services.

• Ability to work in a fast-paced environment while managing multiple projects and deadlines.

• Maintains professional and technical knowledge by attending educational workshops; reviewing professional publications; establishing personal networks; participating in professional societies.  Overnight stays will be required.

• Perform all other duties as may be assigned by Director of Broadband Operations or designee.

 

POSITION SPECIFICATION

• Bachelor’s Degree in Marketing or Communication preferred.

• Minimum of 2 years of experience in developing and implementing marketing campaigns.

• Previous sales and marketing experience is required.

• Prior Coop experience is preferred.

• Must have strong oral and written communication skills.  Copyright experience is preferred.

• Creative/Graphic design experience is required.

• Must have strong computer skills with proficiency in Microsoft Office and website software and acquire a strong knowledge of subsidiary products and services.

• Knowledge of web design is required and video production experience is highly preferred.

• Seeking individuals with an entrepreneurial focus and a positive attitude.

• Detail oriented individual with strong organizational skills.

• Must have strong verbal and writing skills to provide effective customer presentations, written proposals/contracts, and excellent customer service.

• Must meet sales goals while providing accurate and timely reporting information to Management.

 

Working Conditions

Normal office conditions and irregular hours may be required.  Occasional travel may be required, too.  After an offer of employment is made, a physical examination is required which will include drug testing.
