North Canadian River Overtakes ECE Pole

Early in the morning on Friday, June 19th, East Central Electric Cooperative crews were alerted to a washed out pole on the North Canadian River near Okemah.  Service to approximately 126 homes was knocked out by the snapped line that occurred as a result of the pole being overtaken by rushing waters.  The river breached it banks and extended three spans past the downed pole.

Currently, working together, as is the Cooperative Way, ECE and Canadian Valley Electric Cooperative are placing poles and extending line toward CVEC territory to tie into their lines to provide power to ECE members until the waters recede and crews can safely repair the washed out pole and snapped line.
