Event Details

State Senate District 8, which covers parts of Creek, McIntosh, Muskogee, Okfuskee, and Okmulgee counties, is currently vacant following the resignation of Senator Roger Thompson in November 2024. 

As a non-partisan institution, East Central Electric Cooperative will be hosting a candidate forum for members of the community to meet with the three candidates for office ahead of the May 13th election.

  • Light refreshments will be served.
• Forum: 6:30 - 7:30 p.m.
• Audience Q&A: 7:30 - 8 p.m.

FACILITY GUIDELINES

To ensure a respectful, safe, and productive environment for all attendees, please adhere to the following event guidelines:

• No Outside Food or Drink

• No Weapons on the Premises
  This includes firearms, knives, or any object that could be considered a weapon, regardless of permit status.

• No Signs Allowed
  No political signage, banners, or other materials will be permitted. Candidates may bring promotional items, though distribution will be limited to a specific area.

• Respectful Conduct Is Expected
  Disruptive behavior, including heckling or personal attacks, will not be tolerated. All guests are expected to treat others with courtesy and respect.

• All bags are subject to search upon entry. Bag size is limited to standard purse dimensions, 12"x6"x12"
  Security personnel will conduct bag checks at the entrance. Oversized bags, backpacks, duffel bags, or luggage will not be permitted. Exceptions may be made for medical or diaper bags that are clearly marked.

• Silence Cell Phones and Electronic Devices
  Please ensure your devices are on silent or turned off to avoid distractions during the forum.

• Seating Is First Come, First Served
  Please arrive early to secure your seat. 

• Follow Venue Staff and Security Instructions at All Times
  For everyone’s safety, please cooperate fully with all event staff and security personnel.
