Core Responsibilities
The duties and responsibilities described below are the essential functions of the job and are not intended to be all inclusive for this position.
- Assists in the preparation of position descriptions for employees this position supervises.
- Recruits and screens applicants for billing positions this position supervises.
- Trains employees under this position’s supervision.
- Actively promotes a sense of team spirit and enthusiasm throughout the department by assisting the VP of Office Services through guidance, counseling, and recognition of accomplishments.
- Conduct group meetings.
- Assures direct reports follow the mission, principles, goals and philosophy of the Cooperative.
- Delegate billing responsibilities and authorities for the following duties:
- Manage the billing system, including bill calculations and processing for delinquents and cut-offs.
- Manage billing adjustments on accounts.
- Ensure service orders for new electric services, new broadband services, and other miscellaneous service orders are worked in an accurate and timely manner.
- Manage all payment activities to ensure proper posting and reconciliation across all systems.
- Manage the relationship with 3rd party payment vendors and troubleshoot issues with their systems.
- Record return payments on member accounts and adjust delinquent schedules accordingly.
- Supervises the input of all billing dates, power cost adjustments and consumer cost adjustments.
- Work with various departments troubleshooting issues in the billing system.
- Oversee the collection process by submitting and updating delinquent accounts and maintaining the relationship with the outside collection agency.
- Complete month-end processes and assist with balancing to the accounting department.
- Complete the year-end process and assist in providing documentation for the annual audit.
- Maintains and ensures accuracy of power cost and consumer cost adjustments.
- Maintains and administers meter reading system for accurate records and to ensure communications stay online.
- Prepares and balances Franchise Tax Report for accounting.
- Performs other duties as directed by the VP of Office Services.

Specific requirements and competencies include:
- Solid Educational Background – Bachelors Degree in Business/Accounting or equivalent required with at least 3 years of relative work experience which may include general office billing, record keeping, data processing or bookkeeping. Proficient skill with excel
- Applicable knowledge of Microsoft office.
- Must have and maintain a valid Oklahoma driver’s license.
