The Accounting Department is now taking applications for the position of Staff Accountant. Interested inside employees should contact Gary Creekmore, Vice President of Human Resources. All candidates must complete an application at the ECOEC website.
A Bachelor’s Degree in Accounting or Business and a minimum of three (3) years accounting experience with Telecom or Fiber Optic provider is required.
- Updating accounts receivable and issue invoices
- Analyzing reports to ensure that all customer purchases are billed accurately
- Assist in the preparation of monthly/yearly closings
- Sorting and scanning incoming mail to ensure that invoices are received and entered
- Reviewing and coding administrative invoices in online AP system
- Vendor management (adding new vendors, requesting & receipt of W-9)
- Gathering information for and aiding in the preparation of state/local sales tax returns
- Other duties and special projects as requested by management
Experience you bring to the table:
- 3 years of accounting experience in telecom environment
- Firm grasp of basic and intermediate accounting principles
- Strong Microsoft Excel knowledge
- Strong analytical skills
- Ability to work in a fast-paced environment
- Willingness to learn and take on new responsibilities
