Staff Accountant

The Accounting Department is now taking applications for the position of Staff Accountant. Interested parties must apply online at the ECOEC website.

A Bachelor’s Degree in Accounting or Business and a minimum of three (3) years accounting experience with an Electric cooperative is strongly preferred.

·         Updating accounts receivable and issue invoices

·         Analyzing reports to ensure that all customer purchases are billed accurately

·         Assist in the preparation of monthly/yearly closings

·         Sorting and scanning incoming mail to ensure that invoices are received and entered

·         Reviewing and coding administrative invoices in online AP system

·         Vendor management (adding new vendors, requesting & receipt of W-9)

·         Gathering information for and aiding in the preparation of state/local sales tax returns

·         Other duties and special projects as requested by management

Experience you bring to the table:

·       3 years of accounting experience

·       Firm grasp of basic and intermediate accounting principles

·       Strong Microsoft Excel knowledge

·       Strong analytical skills

·       Ability to work in a fast-paced environment

·       Willingness to learn and take on new responsibilities
