Energy Audit
An energy audit is required in order to participate in the program and is the most essential piece of the puzzle to pinpoint where to start on upgrading your home or business. An energy audit reveals crucial energy improvements that can cut energy use, save money, and improve the comfort of your home or commercial business. Our third party energy auditor will inspect items such as:
- HVAC system condition
- Water Heater condition
- R value insulation in the attic
- Doors and Windows
- Weatherization Opportunities
A report will be provided to you that includes these energy improvement recommendations. Any recommendation on this report is eligible for Mission 2 upgrades as well as any applicable rebates. Most common home improvements are added insulation in attic and crawlspace, weatherizing the home and installing new HVAC units.
Cost of Mission 1 is $8 per month. This covers the cost of device and installation as well as the energy audit.
Important note: Mission 1 must be completed before moving on to Mission 2.
An ECE Energy Services Representative reviews your energy audit results and recommends eligible energy improvements such as:

Upon completion of the review, ECE will provide a list of approved independent contractors to you if you choose to move forward with improvements. Using the list, members can start requesting quotes and scheduling site visits. Once quotes are approved by ECE, the work can begin. Once completion documents have been signed by both parties, ECE will pay the contractor directly and member will start paying the low interest loan back in monthly payments up to 10 years on their electric bill plus a 5% program charge.
